GE Healthcare joined hands with Max Healthcare for creation of multi-faceted cancer care solutions, a move aimed at making cancer treatment affordable and accessible in India. An announcement to this effect was made on Wednesday at Delhis Max Healthcare hospital. This marriage of technology, provided by GE, and expertise, provided by Max Healthcare, aims at addressing the shortcomings of Indias cancer care system — some of them being lack of skilled manpower, high treatment costs and poor or no access to treatment. Some of the services under this ambitious project include creation of decision support systems, development of innovative cancer specific treatment pathways and protocols and setting up of an oncology training institute to address the issue of talent paucity.
